Prospective Interns
Athough my research relies on experiments, I prefer interns working on mostly on computation. This can be divided into three categories:
  1. modeling of heat and mass transfer during materials processing using finite difference/element/volume technique,
  2. modeling of thermodynamics and kinetics of materials, and
  3. automating image analysis.
You will mostly be using open source tools and libraries for 1 and 3; for 2, both open source packages and databases and one specfic proprietery suite can be used.
