Ekta Prajapati has worked on large scale integration of microfluidics, particularly the miniature on-chip microscope (“Muscope”) that we have built.
Niketa A. K. has fabricated and analysed graphene nanopores for molecular filtration. Currently, she is engaged in electrical control of selectivity of these membranes and their integration with microfluidics.
Saima Hamid is making automated and scalable cell culture system using microfluidics. Her final aim is to use these systems for antibody search platform.
Brief description of her thesis work: Antibodies are essential components in therapeutics, diagnostics, and research. However, traditional methods of discovering antibodies are often slow and require substantial resources. To address the increasing need for faster and more efficient antibody discovery, our goal is to create a scalable, high-throughput microfluidic system enhanced with artificial intelligence (AI). Through the development of multilayer microfluidic devices, we anticipate providing cost-effective, high-quality, and automated platforms that can seamlessly transition into commercial products.
- Naveen Kumar K.R. is working on a planar patch-clamp setup for measuring the ionic current flow through the ion-channels in the cell walls. [Jointly supervised with Prof. Anamika Bhargava, Interdisciplinary Program]
