COURSE OBJECTIVES i) To describe the various types of load-transfer mechanisms and anchors available with their strengths and limitations, ii) To explain the qualification and assessment criteria for the anchors, iii) To explain the fundamentals of design using anchors and post-installed reinforcing bars iv) To teach the advanced aspects of the design of anchorages under seismic loads and de-signing anchorages with supplementary reinforcement v) To describe the requirements on and design of anchorages for special applications in seismic strengthening, vi) To discuss the behavior of anchorages in special concretes, and extreme loading condi-tions such as fire or impact loads vii) To give hands-on experience on installation and behavior of anchorages
