About Dr. Sireesh

Dr. Sireesh Saride is a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad. He has a strong background in pavement geotechnics, geosynthetics, recycled materials, and ground improvement.Dr. Saride completed his undergraduate studies at JNTU College of Engineering, Kakinada, in 2000. He then pursued an integrated Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, which he successfully completed in 2006. Following his Ph.D., he worked as a post-doctoral research fellow and lecturer at the University of Texas at Arlington from 2006 to 2010, gaining valuable international research experience.

Since joining IIT Hyderabad in 2010, Dr. Saride has been actively engaged in various research activities. He is currently involved in developing design guidelines for geosynthetic-reinforced flexible pavements and recycled materials. His valuable work in this area has been recognized through research grants from prestigious organizations such as the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and the National Technical Textiles Mission, Ministry of Textiles. These grants are expected to support his research projects for the next four years. In addition to his research endeavors, Dr. Sireesh Saride holds key leadership roles at IIT Hyderabad. He leads the newly funded Centre of Excellence on the 'Transportation Research and Innovation Hub (TRI HUB)' by NHAI, demonstrating his expertise in transportation research. Dr. Saride published over 240 referred journals, conference articles, and technical reports. He has also assumed editorial responsibilities as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering, ASCE, and the Indian Geotechnical Journal, IGS.Dr. Sireesh Saride is a member of several professional societies, including the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), the Transportation Research Board (TRB), and the International Geosynthetics Society. He is a life member of the Indian Roads Congress (IRC) and a fellow of the Indian Geotechnical Society.
