Our research objective is centered on application of systems biology in understanding complex diseases and designing therapeutic strategies. Towards this, we try to construct engineering models of cell signaling network based on reaction and transport of biomolecules. Our research combines the development of experimental platform to study living tissue/cells and computational methodologies to simulate cell dynamics. Current efforts include live cell imaging (confocal microscopy), modeling of protein diffusion and biochemical oscillations. A particular focus is on the GPCR network modeling and elucidation of underlying design principles.
