Young Researchers' Forum at CALDAM 2020
IIT Hyderabad

For the first time in the series of CALDAM, a Young Researchers' Forum (YRF) is being organized in CALDAM 2020. The YRF will take place within the conference. The forum provides an opportunity for young researchers to share their research ideas in the form of oral presentation, have fruitful deliberations and to receive constructive feedback from peers, senior researchers and experts of CALDAM community. The interactions through formal and informal discussions will foster their research, build a networking among students and researchers and may lead to potential collaborations.

A young researcher is defined as someone who received/will receive his/her PhD degree in 2018 or later. Submissions are accepted as long as one of the authors is a young researcher. We also encourage submissions from students of BE/BTech/ME/MSc/MS/MTech programs who are working on the areas relevant to CALDAM. For submissions that do not have faculty member as a co-author, it is advised that a letter from the the students supervisor is included with the submission that states that the research work is carried out by the student following the ethical standards of scholarly research.

The topics must fit into the general context of CALDAM, as described in the call for CALDAM submissions. The submissions must be emailed to

Authors (the corresponding author must be a young researcher) are invited to submit an extended summary of their unpublished ongoing research work, including a title, name of all authors along with their affiliations and email addresses, a few keywords, brief study incorporating objective of the work, partial/completed results and main references. The submissions must be in pdf format, not exceed two pages in A4 size pages with a 10 point font size, excluding bibliography. All submissions must be in English. The corresponding author is requested to mention their mobile number in the submission mail.

The reviewing for YRF is completely independent of the reviewing for CALDAM. All submitted papers will be subjected to a screening process to ensure the technical quality and novelty of the work. After acceptance of the paper, at least one author who is a young researcher is required to register, present the work in the forum; otherwise, it will be removed from the program. Accepted contributions will be compiled in a booklet of abstracts that will be distributed among the participants; this is not a formal publication. In particular, authors of accepted papers are encouraged to submit (an extended version of) their presented work to a conference with formal proceedings and/or to a journal.
